The Council as part of safeguarding procedures ensures that where an
individual does not have capacity to deal with their finances that it considers
all options of a family member, friend or carer to
act. In circumstances where there is no willing, able or suitable person to act and it is in the individual’s best interest the Council
then provides this function/service. This proposal seeks to introduce an
equitable position for those people using services who finances are managed
through methods other than Deputyship.
